What can you do during your stay at Camping ?

Make the most of your stay at Camping Ferrand to discover the treasures of Lépin-le-Lac on the banks of the Aiguebelette river and the surrounding area. Nature, culture and Savoyard gastronomy: something for everyone!

Lac d’Aiguebelette: a protected natural gem

The mythical pearl of Savoie, Lac d’Aiguebelette, whose nature reserve covers no less than 800 hectares, seduces visitors with its clear, turquoise waters and relaxing beaches, which can be accessed directly from the campsite: a real treat, don’t you think? The lake also offers a rare and appreciable tranquillity, thanks to the ban on motorboats. And yes, it’s a place where everyone can recharge their batteries, including the local wildlife! Enjoy a refreshing swim, a paddle or a canoe trip to explore the discreet creeks, and if you have a keen eye, you might spot some local wildlife, such as swans splashing about or great crested grebes (technical one!).

Outdoor activities: the choice is yours!

For a unique experience: paraglide over the lake! It’s all about thrills and incredible scenery. Just a quarter of an hour away by car, head for La Novalaise for the departure point. On the land side, go at your own pace and rent a mountain bike (with or without electric assistance) or a scooter. Discover a whole network of marked trails to see the lake from a different angle. Ideal for a family outing!

Hiking and walking: breathtaking panoramas

Whether you’re a fan of short walks or more strenuous hikes, the area around the campsite is packed with trails to suit all levels! Among them, the Col du Crucifix (altitude 874 m) offers a pleasant stroll with panoramic views over the lake valley. Accessible to beginners, it promises a visual reward without too much effort. Also explore Mont Grêle (1,425 m) (for the more courageous hikers) This climb offers spectacular scenery with a bird’s-eye view of Lac d’Aiguebelette and the surrounding mountains. A real treat for wilderness lovers!By bike, enjoy the Voie Verte cycle route, ideal for families.

Chambéry: the Savoyard capital with everything to please!

Fancy an urban getaway just a stone’s throw from Lake Aiguebelette? Head for Chambéry, a city as charming as it is unexpected. Combining cobbled streets, historic monuments and gourmet breaks, it’s a real local gem. Stroll through the old town and discover the traboules: typical hidden passageways revealing secret courtyards and colorful facades. Let us guide you to Place Saint-Léger, in the heart of the city. Among the must-see sights are : La Fontaine des Éléphants, Le Château des Ducs de Savoie and the Cathédrale Saint-François-de-Sales (yes, more culture, we can’t get enough of it!). To recover from these intense days, enjoy a “little” fondue, or for something sweet, try the Maison de Boigne’s Génépi-based chocolates (a very local specialty).

Aix-les-Bains: the Alpine Riviera between lake and well-being!

Located on the shores of the magnificent Lac du Bourget a few kilometers to the north, Aix-les-Bains is a true concentrate of the gentle way of life. Renowned for its thermal waters, lakeside walks and chic yet relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for those who love relaxation and nature. Because Aiguebelette isn’t the only jewel in the crown (although it is!), you’ll appreciate its deep blue reflections and calm. Whether on foot, by bike or with your hair blowing in the wind on a boat, every moment around this body of water is rejuvenating. Aix-les-Bains is otherwise known for its legendary thermal baths, dating back to Roman times (that’s a long time ago), and people come here to relax in the healing waters with their ever-present virtues! Head for the heights: you’ll catch a glimpse of Le Mont Revard, with its sumptuous view over the lake and its incredible palette of colors, or Le Belvédère de la Chambotte: ideal for a photo break against one of the region’s most beautiful panoramas.

Picturesque villages to discover

The area around the campsite is dotted with villages with a typical Savoyard atmosphere: perfect for immersing yourself in the local art of living. Take advantage of a sunny getaway to visit La Novalaise: this charming village is known for its friendly market where you’ll find farmhouse cheeses, artisanal charcuterie and other local treasures. There’s plenty to enjoy in the mountains! A little further afield, Saint-Alban-de-Montbel is a haven of peace by the lake, ideal for a gourmet break with a view… And if you’re a cheese lover, you’re in for a treat: don’t leave without trying a Tomme de Savoie or a Reblochon, the real local stars!

Cultural discoveries: a leap into history

To enrich your stay (and take a break from cheese…), there are several cultural sites worth a visit:The Gallo-Roman Museum in Aosta (30-minute drive), where you’ll be immersed in 2,000 years of history thanks to exhibitions retracing the daily life of this fascinating era. Further northwest, on the Lac du Bourget side, stop off at Hautecombe Abbey: this Cistercian abbey is an architectural masterpiece where the members of the House of Savoy are buried.

Gourmet activities and local experiences

There’s no shortage of gastronomy here… The region abounds in local wineries and producers where you can enjoy Savoy wines. Appreciate the finesse of Chignin-Bergeron or Mondeuse, accompanied by local charcuterie and cheeses. Some wineries offer guided tours to discover the secrets of their production: let your sweet tooth do the talking! All the same, consume in moderation.
